Traveling Malaysia on Budget

Why not travel in a tropical country with a ton of beaches to choose from, great food and with friendly locals. Book your holiday in Malaysia and we will help you travel on a budget but still have a lot of fun! If you are interested in traveling without spending too much, stay with us and we will give you tips and advice on how to spend your money wisely in Malaysia.

Accommodation

Kuala Lumpur

You can get a cheap accommodation in Bukit Bintang which is located in Kuala Lumpur. Bukit Bintang is also known as one of the best entertainment hot spots in KL. You’ll be surprised how cheap is the accommodation in Malaysia. You can get a room for $4 to $11 per night.

Langkawi

It’s best to stay in Cenang Beach where you are close to everything; hotels, bars, restaurants and of course close to the most popular beach. The price differs and it starts from $5 single/double to $11.

Penang

The hostels in Penang starts from $4 to $8, you can check out Chulia Street which is a historic place. Don’t expect too much from the rooms as they are cheap so you literally get a place to sleep and I recommend you to explore most of your day outside.

Transportation

In Malaysia, it’s always cheap to use public transport such as; buses and trains. For a ticket to go around Kuala Lumpur will be less than $1 with buses/trains. If you don’t feel comfortable in taking the trains or buses as it gets really packed, you can always take a taxi or rent a car for as cheap as $15 to $20 half day or full day. This is a good option especially if you are traveling as a group, you can literally go anywhere you like without being separated from each other.

Food

Are you spontaneous to try the local food in Malaysia? Try the local restaurants they are called Mamak Restaurant, another plus is that most of these restaurants, corner shops are 24 hours so if you see that it says 24 Jam that means they are open 24hrs. Which is good because if you get hungry in the middle of the night, there’s always food available for you. You wouldn’t believe how cheap is the food in Malaysia. The ranges of prices in a Mamak Restaurants starts from $1.50 which includes a drink. I would advise for you to buy a bottle of water as it’s not expensive it’s only $0.20 just to be on a safe side and avoid getting ill if you drink tap water.

Did you know?

In Langkawi, a BEER is cheaper than a bottle of WATER. You can download an app which is called Obike and start biking in Kuala Lumpur. You can also leave the bike somewhere and lock it no one will be able to use it.

Petronas Twin Towers in KL used to be the tallest skyscraper in the world.
