3 Reasons to Visit Tenerife

The good old sun-sand-sea package rings true in Tenerife. But the largest of the Canary Islands is by no means unique in this offering. There are destinations across Europe offering sun on a more reliable and intense basis than can be found in the UK, sand i.e. endless sandy beaches that stretch for miles and sea that’s clean and not a goose-bump inducing temperature. The combination of all three is blended to perfection in Tenerife, but its blend is not exclusive. Other locations in mainland Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Malta, Cyprus and so on offer similar mixtures. The uniqueness of Tenerife is found beyond its combination of sun, sand and sea.

Tenerife has its own culture, food and mesmerising landscape. It has a range of man- and nature-made attractions to appeal to groups, couples and families and on top of all this it is a cheap holiday destination. On The Beach offers cheap holidays to Tenerife throughout the year, taking advantage of all the island has to offer.

For groups

Three reasons to visit TenerifeTenerife is a great place to get active outdoors. Groups will enjoy hiking through Mount Teide National Park, a moon-like landscape parched by volcanic eruptions. For the less fit among the group a 10-minute cable car ride takes visitors close to the mighty peak of Mount Teide, some 3718 metres above sea level, making it Spain’s highest mountain. Hardier, fitter group members can hike up, although it takes six to eight hours and is not for the fainthearted.

For couples

Dining is affordable, making cheap holidays to Tenerife a reality. Couples will be able to dine out every night on freshly caught fish and seafood and not worry about blowing the holiday budget. The best, least touristy restaurants can be found in the island’s capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Three of the best restaurants are La Cazuela, La Fundacion and La Taberna de Wally.

For families

Three reasons to visit Tenerife; Families love Tenerife for the long, sandy beaches lapped by sheltered waters and plenty of babysitting and kids’ club facilities at the hotels. But there is much more on offer for families than beaches and babysitting. Wildlife parks Loro Parque Zoo and Jungle Park provide plenty of animal fun and Siam Park is a giant themed waterpark with wave pools and slides just outside Costa Adeje.
